Starting out with a technical line drawing of a gun, the first part of the assignment was to redraw it analogically and then “explode” it to a state where only little resemblance to the original gun was left. An obstruction to the assignment was to draw it on a wooden board forcing you to deal with texture of the wood when drawing a line.

Next step was to transform our new 2D-drawing in to a digital 3D-object.

The point of departure was a massive rectangle.

From this rectangle, the 3D-model would be “carved” out using different techniques in the digital software. The primary interventions used where subtraction and addition of material.

The final delivery was six different axonometric drawings, three showing the full object from different angles and three showing the object sectioned in three different places.
